Montenegro, as a
country under process of the European Union Integration,
has to carry fundamental reforms out and to define
development strategy in the field of the protection of
cultural heritage, respecting contemporary world's
standards, but with protecting its own social
specificities.
Consideration should be given to the
open, democratic and transparant approach in the
cultural policy creation and decision, as well as
encouraging decision makers to lead such a policy which
will support contemporary challenges, and to develop new
partnership, conventions and nets, to investigate new
management models, teamwork, and interresource
cooperations.
It is a process where the former
conception and attitudes, should be replaced by the
long-term strategy of reforms and developing of the
Monte Negro institutions which r involved in this field.
In Monte Negro there is a
knowledge based system which represents potential for
good quality system of the protection of monuments.
By establishing foundation „FOMOS
MONTENEGRO“ we would like to improve possibilities for
knowledge exchange, experience as well as improvement of
partner relationship between countries and non-governomental
sector.
Upon defining the criterias for
the Association members, it was important to chose
experts from the field of protection of cultural
heritage, experienced experts with reputation, youth,
well-educated colleagues which are just starting working
cycle in this field.
This combination of youth and
experience should result with numerious high-quality
and useful programs and projects.
The Association name is FOMOS
MONTENEGRO which is abrivation of the Foundation for
Monuments and Sites. By this way, it is very easy to
recoqnize what is the mission and activity of the
Foundation.
